Biography (English): Don Reichert RCA was a practicing artist for more than five decades. A graduate of the BFA program at the University of Manitoba, he attended the Instituto Allende of San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. Don’s work was exhibited in numerous exhibitions throughout Canada and internationally, including several solo and group shows at the Winnipeg Art Gallery. His most recent solo exhibitions included Bridge Reconstructions at the Confederation Centre Art Gallery in Charlottetown, PEI in 2005 and Nature Morph at Winnipeg’s Franco-Manitoban Cultural Centre in 2006, which was a continuation of a 2005 exhibit at the Art Gallery of the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C. Don’s work can be found in the collections of many major public galleries and university galleries across the country, including the National Gallery of Canada, the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Winnipeg Art Gallery and the Canada Council Art Bank. He received several awards for his work, including grants from the Manitoba Arts Council and the Canada Council for the Arts, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. Don was Artist in Residence at the University of New Brunswick in 1961-62 and spent the following year painting and exhibition in St. Ives, Cornwall. He taught painting at the University of Manitoba’s School of Art at from 1964 to 1988; summer sessions at the Emily Carr College of Art and Design in 1979 and the Banff Centre for the Arts in 1974; and led several painting workshops at Mount Allison University in the early-1980s. The CCCA Winnipeg Artists Project was generously supported by the Winnipeg Foundation, with additional research support from the Heritage Grants Program, Manitoba Culture, Heritage and Tourism.

Diplômé du programme BFA de l'Université du Manitoba, il a fréquenté l'Instituto Allende de San Miguel de Allende au Mexique.
