Aliana Au was born in Guangdong, China. From 1967-1970 she studied Chinegse painting with Professor Au Ho-Nien in Hong Kong.
From 1970-1973 she studied with professors R. E. Williams, Arnold Saper, Bob Sakowski, Ivan Eyre, George Swinton, and Robert Bruce at the School of Art, University of Manitoba.
From 1977-1978 she studied painting with Ivan Eyre and graduated in 1978 with a Diploma in Art.

Biography (English): Born in China, comes from a Canadian family distinguished in public service. After graduating from the University of Toronto, he was President’s Fellow at Johns Hopkins University. He joined the United Nations post-war UNRRA in 1945, serving in China in 1946-48, in charge of humanitarian aid during the civil war. Joining UNICEF in 1948, he became director of worldwide programmes (1965-78); and, latterly, senior policy advisor. Since his retirement, he continues as pro bono advisor on UNICEF’s emergency operations, is a Board Member of the UN NGO Disarmament Committee and is the UN Representative of the United Nations Association in Canada. For nine years he has prepared annual comprehensive reports on the UN General Assembly. In 2001, he produced a perceptive account of the UN in the last decade of the 20th century (The Diplomacy of Hope). Newton Bowles is also an accomplished artist whose paintings are collected in several North American museums.

Il a rejoint l'UNRRA des Nations Unies après la guerre en 1945, servant en Chine de 1946 à 1948, chargé de l'aide humanitaire pendant la guerre civile. Rejoignant l'UNICEF en 1948, il devient directeur des programmes mondiaux (1965-78) ; et, dernièrement, conseiller politique principal. Biography (English): Kai Chan immigrated to Canada in 1966, having graduated with a degree in biology in 1963. He has received numerous grants and awards including the 1998 Jean A. Chalmers National Crafts Award and in 2002, the Saidye Bronfman Award for Excellence in the Fine Crafts. In 2003, and again in January 2010, Chan was awarded the Canada Council's Paris studio residency.
Kai has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions across Canada, the United States, Japan, Australia and Europe, and is represented in the collections of the Canadian Museum of Civilization (Gatineau, Quebec), Museum London (London, Ontario), the Mendel Art Gallery (Saskatoon, SK); the Canada Council Art Bank (Ottawa, Ontario), the Library & Gallery (Cambridge, Ontario), and Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimusem in Norway.

Biography (English): Henry Eveleigh was a Quebec graphic designer of British origin. He entered the Slade School of Arts in London at the age of 18 to study for a year. He then immersed himself in painting from 1930 to 1938 after which he settled in Montreal. He then became an apprentice graphic designer where he produced war posters, the most famous of which: “Let’s go… Canadians! ". With his experience and success, he became artistic director until 1946. From that date, he founded his own agency in collaboration with several other creators.
From 1955 to 1962, he was head of Eveleigh Design. At the same time, he participated in the creation of an advertising graphics program at the École des beaux-arts de Montréal, a program for which he was director for 20 years. He then became director of the graphic design program at the University of Quebec in Montreal in 1969 for two years. He won first prize in the first United Nations global poster competition in 19472.
Biography (French): Henry Eveleigh était un designer graphiste québécois d'origine britannique. Il entre à la Slade School of Arts de Londres à l'âge de 18 ans pour y étudier pendant un an. Il se plonge ensuite dans la peinture de 1930 à 1938 après quoi il s'installe à Montréal. Il devient alors graphiste apprenti où il produit des affiches de guerre dont la plus connue : « Allons-y… Canadiens ! ». Avec son expérience et son succès, il devient directeur artistique jusqu'en 1946. À partir de cette date, il fonde sa propre agence en collaboration avec plusieurs autres créateurs.
De 1955 à 1962, il sera à la tête de Eveleigh Design. Il participe parallèlement à la création d'un programme de graphisme publicitaire à l'École des beaux-arts de Montréal, programme pour lequel il est directeur pendant 20 ans. Il devient ensuite directeur du programme de design graphique à l'Université du Québec à Montréal en 1969 et ce pendant deux ans.Il obtient le Premier prix du premier concours d'affiches mondial des Nations unies en 19472.
Biography (English): Yam Lau’s creative work and research explore new expressions and qualities of space, time and image. His most recent works combine video and computer-generated animation to re-create familiar spaces in varied dimensionalities and perspectives. In addition to his new media work, he is actively involved in the local art community. Certain aspects of his practice, such as using a donkey as an on-going mobile project space in Beijing, China are designed to solicit community participation. The recipient of numerous awards from the Canada, Ontario and Toronto Arts Councils, Professor Lau has exhibited widely across Canada, the US and Europe. He also publishes regularly on art and design. He is represented by Katzman Kamen Gallery in Toronto.
