Biography (English): Geoffrey James RCA is a Canadian documentary photographer. He was influenced lifelong by Eugene Atget and, like Atget, been fascinated with the built environment. Early in his long career, James made panoramic landscapes. They illuminated his subjects in black-and-white photographs, nature's spaces and the changes wrought by society on both its more idealized creations as in formal gardens as well as its darker side as in the asbestos mining landscape. His aims were two-fold, both "Utopia" and "Dystopia". Utopia/Dystopia was the title of his book/catalogue and retrospective at the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa in 2008.
Around 2010 he was reborn as a digital photographer and his work, mainly of Toronto, though still intelligent and meditative, became more socially oriented. In 2016, appropriately, he was appointed the first Photo Laureate of Toronto by Mayor John Tory.
For some years, James has been fascinated with the modern architect Jože Plečnik (1875-1957) and his architecture, especially the social places he created, in Ljubljana, Slovenia and exhibited photographs in shows about his work, both in Canada (2019) and abroad (2022). In 2023, James was described as a "consummate photographer with a distinctive vision."

Biography (English): A graduate of the Birmingham School of Jewellery and Silversmithing in England U.K. Vivienne Jones RCA has maintained a studio practice as a professional contemporary artist jeweller in Toronto since the 1980s. She has consistently created original works for sale and by commission as well as exhibited and sold her work through galleries and juried or curated exhibitions.
In 2003 she was elected to the Royal Canadian Academy of the Arts. She has expanded her practice to include sculptural work, exploring form, scale and material outside of the wearable.

Elle a constamment créé des œuvres originales pour la vente et sur commande, et a exposé et vendu son travail dans des galeries et des expositions avec jury ou commissaire.

Biography (English): Clive Robertson is a Canadian performance and media artist, critic, curator, publisher and retired Queen's University art history professor.
Robertson attended Plymouth, Cardiff and Liverpool Colleges of Art in the UK before obtaining an MFA in Sculpture/Performance Studies at the University of Reading, England in 1971. He holds a PhD in Communication Studies from Concordia University, Montréal with a dissertation on artist-run culture as a movement and apparatus. Robertson has been recognised as a force for artist organisation advocacy and served in the 1970s as President and in the late 1980s as National Spokesperson for ANNPAC/RACA (Association of National non-profit Artist Centres). Following a Contemporary Art Research Fellowship at the National Gallery of Canada in 1994, Robertson received a full-time appointment to teach contemporary art history at Queen's University in 1999 where he also helped inaugurate the graduate programme in cultural studies. As a critic he has published in: artscanada; Art and Artists; Centerfold; FILE; La Mamelle; Parachute; Only Paper Today; FUSE; C Magazine; Our Times; Remote Control; Parallelogramme; Inter; and High Performance. He retired from teaching in 2016. Clive Robertson's life partner is artist and filmmaker Frances Leeming.
