Dobson's work has been exhibited worldwide, in countries including: Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Belgium, China, Germany, Spain, and Mexico. She was a contributing artist to the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad and her work was presented on billboards in Vancouver as part of the exhibition Endlessly Traversed Landscapes.

Robert Enright

Biography (English): Robert Enright is a Canadian journalist, art critic, and academic. He is the founder and senior contributing editor at Border Crossings. Enright attended the University of Saskatchewan, in Saskatoon, from 1967 to 1971 as an undergraduate in the Department of English where he received a BA (Hons.). He then attended the Doctoral Program at the University of Manitoba. In 1976, he was one of the founders of literary publisher Turnstone Press. From 1988 to 1992 he was a member of the Board of Directors for the Western Magazine Awards Foundation, as well as a Member of the Canada Council Advisory Panel on Book and Periodical Publishing from 1990 to 1992. Along with spending 25 years as an art critic for CBC, he has also contributed to ARTnews, Modern Painters, ArtReview, frieze and The Globe & Mail. For his work he received nominations and medals at the National Magazine Awards, and at the Western Magazine Awards. He has contributed introductions, essays, interviews and articles to over 300 art catalogues and books on contemporary artists. While working for CBC for 25 years he started the magazine Border Crossings with Meeka Walsh. In 2005 he was named a Member of the Order of Canada, in 2012 he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, and in 2015 he was awarded a Doctorate of Letters from the University of Winnipeg. He is the Research Professor in Art Theory and Criticism in the School of Fine Art and Music at the University of Guelph.

Janet Morton

Biography (English): Janet Lynn Morton is a Canadian visual artist who is known for her knitted works. She trained as a sculptor, earning a Bachelor of Fine Art Degree from York University in 1990. In 1980, Morton learned to knit in Denmark. The artist began incorporating wool and yarn into her laborious textile-based work in 1992. She also uses recycled materials and materials from nature, and additionally works in video, performance, and public sculpture. Occasionally, Morton works collaboratively. An example of Morton’s work is Cozy (1999-2000), which was affiliated with the Textile Museum of Canada (Toronto, Ontario). Morton constructed the work using over 800 reclaimed off-white sweaters, hand knit architectural details, custom made buttons and industrial velcro. It covered a small home on Ward's Island (Toronto, Ontario) for eighteen days in November 1999 and a metal scaffold structure at Trinity Square Park (Toronto, Ontario) for three days in April 2000. A retrospective of twenty years of her work, entitled The Ravelled Sleeve, was held in 2012 at the McDonald Stewart Art Centre at the University of Guelph (Guelph, Ontario). Morton’s work is in the collections of Cambridge Galleries, Museum London, and the National Gallery of Canada, as well as corporate and private collections. Morton has received funding from the Toronto Arts Council, Ontario Arts Council, and the Canada Council for the Arts. In 2001, she was the recipient of the Paris Studio Award (France) from the latter funding agency.

Ron Shuebrook

Biography (English): Ron Shuebrook RCA is an American-born Canadian abstract artist who is a prominent teacher and administrator, as well as a writer. Shuebrook studied at Kutztown State College, Pennsylvania, USA, where he received his BS and M.Ed. in Art Education. During the summers of 1965 and 1967, he attended the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Deer Isle, Maine. There he received painting and printmaking scholarships and his mentor was Peter Gee, among others. Afterwards, he attended the Fine Arts Work Center, Provincetown, Massachusetts, studying with Fritz Bultman, as well as with visiting artists Robert Motherwell, Allan Kaprow and others (1969-1970). He attended the Blossom-Kent Summer Program (1971) on a painting scholarship with visiting artists Leon Golub, R.B. Kitaj, Otto Piene, and with Kent State University faculty. He then attended Kent State University, Ohio as a painting major with minors in sculpture and printmaking and took additional coursework in art history (1970-1972); he received his MFA in 1972. Shuebrook had teachers who were part of the first generation of Abstract Expressionism. His own work has been described as geometric abstraction. His canvases are formally organized and evoke associations with architecture and landscape without literal description. The works explore the sweep of the artist's hand in relation to the rectangle of the surface. One critic believes they are related to Constructivism and to Matisse. He makes his drawings by marking and erasing shapes and lines. He has exhibited his work in many shows nationally and internationally. In 2014-2015, his exhibition titled Ron Shuebrook: Drawings organized and circulated by the Thames Art Gallery in Chatham, Ontario and curated by John Kissick, travelled nationally in collaboration with the Robert McLaughlin Gallery in Oshawa, the Art Gallery of Guelph, the Mount Saint Vincent University Art Gallery in Halifax, and the Kelowna Art Gallery. His paintings, drawings, prints, and wall constructions have been acquired by more than 50 public galleries, museums, and corporations such as the National Gallery of Canada, the Art Gallery of Ontario, Art Gallery of Hamilton, Art Gallery of Guelph, Beaverbrook Art Gallery, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, and many others. He was the President of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts from 2006 to 2007.
