Pam Patterson
Pam currently lives and works in Toronto, Ontario.
Pam has, for more than 30 years, been active in various arts communities. Her research is energized by her personal politics and focussed on embodiment in art practice and disability issues with, for example, publications: Studies in Art Education, Resources for Feminist Research, FUSE, Parachute, and conferences: the Feminism and Art Conference (WARC, Toronto), History of Art Education Symposium (Penn State), and Committing Voice (Goddard), and curatorial projects. She performs and lectures for various colleges and universities.
Pam is also Director of WIAprojects, a multi-faceted feminist arts-informed research and practice program conceived Sept. 2005 at the Centre for Womens Studies in Education (CWSE) at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) of the University of Toronto. In January 2008, the program established itself independently of, but still associated with and housed at, the CWSE/OISE and in May 2008 formed as a collective. WIAprojects continues to provide women-centred, praxis-focussed classes, workshops, exhibitions, research support, courses and outreach to women, men and trans people working in the arts, education, and in community and social services.
As a performance and visual artist, she has exhibited and performed solo, and with Leena Raudvee in ARTIFACTS.
