Biography (English): Joe Bodolai was an American film and television producer and writer.
Born and raised in the United States, Bodolai was opposed to the Vietnam War and moved to Canada in order to avoid being drafted. He moved back to the United States in 1981 to write for twenty episodes of Saturday Night Live before returning to Canada.
He is best known for producing such television shows as It's Only Rock & Roll, Comics!, and The Kids in the Hall and helping to launch the careers of the young talent featured on those shows. He also co-wrote the first draft of the film Wayne's World with Mike Myers.
Bodolai was a founder of The Comedy Network, helping the new channel secure its licence from the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission in 1996, and expected to be named the new channel's head by its owners. He was disappointed when he was not hired and decided to return permanently to the United States.

Biography (English): Gerald Ferguson was a Canadian-American conceptual artist and painter. After receiving his MFA from Ohio University Ferguson taught at two institutions before coming to Canada in 1968, invited to teach at Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) in Halifax. He continued to teach at NSCAD until his retirement in 2006.
During his time at NSCAD he developed his conceptual approach to painting, what the Dalhousie Art Gallery curator Susan Gibson Garvey refers to as "literal, task-oriented paintings." With NSCAD president Garry Neill Kennedy, Ferguson helped establish NSCAD as an important centre for conceptual art, noted for his role in the idea of "the dematerialization of the art object" in Lucy Lippard's influential history of conceptualism Six Years: The Dematerialization of the Art Object from 1966 to 1972.
His work is represented in numerous public and private collections in Canada, the US and Europe. Ferguson has had solo exhibitions at Dalhousie Art Gallery, Art Gallery of Ontario, Vancouver Art Gallery, Winnipeg Art Gallery and the National Gallery of Canada.
Ferguson has work in the collection of the National Gallery of Canada. Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Museum Sztuki, in Łódź, Poland. In 1972-73 he was a visiting professor at the California Institute of the Arts. His work has been regularly reviewed in national and international art journals and news media. In 1996, he was the recipient of 1995 Canada Council for the Arts Molson Prize.

Biography (English): After service in the United States Army Medical Corps from 1962-65, Jim Hansen graduated from Kent State University, Ohio, in 1969, with a major in studio arts and a double minor in biology and chemistry.
He moved to Newfoundland in 1970 and became senior technician at the School of Medicine, Memorial University of Newfoundland.
Hansen has exhibited across Canada and the United States and has had his films shown in Brussels. In addition to being part of the Art Gallery of Newfoundland and Labradors Permanent Collection, his art work can be found in major public collections including the National Gallery of Canada, the Canada Council Art Bank and the Museum of Modern Art.

Biography (English): Jeff Nolte is a photographer and teacher whose practice is often centred around social and public spheres and expanding portraiture to encompass larger stories and ideas.
With many of his works – as with The Mauro Years in the gallery below – Nolte captures both the personality and psychology of his subjects, in a moment in time but also often in terms of a progression of experiences and memories.
