Description: Artist's statement: (5/96) Doctor consists of a life-size outline of a boy's chest and shoulders constructed out of neon, and a life-size outline of a doctor fabricated out of aluminium. The doctor is on a sliding track and controlled by a motor such that it emerges from behind a translucent curtain and moves towards the boy until the doctor's stethoscope reaches the boy's chest. Once there he pauses for a moment and then begins his retraction back to the translucent curtain. This repeats continuously.

Description: Artist Statement (5/96) My fears is a piece designed for the corner of a room and consists of a laser-cut image of half a birthday cake which is completed by its reflection in the mirror. In the place of the birthday candles are small electric lights which flicker to the sound of the repeating audio track. This audio track consists of the sound of an auctioneer who coutns from one to 28 and whose final statement is "gone at 28".

Description: Artist Statement (5/96) Two Kinds of Confidence is a portrait of the sign-painter that I hired to make the piece. I asked him to hand-letter his own name onto one piece of glass. I also asked to sign his name on a piece of paper which I then blew up and had him silk-screen onto the other piece of glass. The title is engraved in upper-case letters in the exposed edge of the metal shelf.

One coin to be transferred on the 6th day of each month until all the coins have been transferred." The other side of each coin is engraved with a number from 1 to 906. The work has an active life of 75.5 years which is how long it will take to transfer all the coins. After that time the work will begin its life as a relic.
